Description

Pinkie Pie found a new sweeter. its a little big, but it makes her so soft and cuddly ^^

wasent ment to be complicated, as i just wanted Pinkie in a sweeter. also tried a new brush for the shadows. not bad, but i like the solid shade better.

hope you love it, because I adore it ^^

Bear with me as this is my first critique. I'll start off with the form first. Pinkie Pie looks amazing in this picture, her arms, her legs, her hair are all exceptionally done. Proportions are maintained as to a pony from the show. Not that it's anyone's obligation to make her properly proportioned, but if you were aiming for that then you've done a good job of it. One key aspect though is that her mane doesn't appear to be aligned properly on her head, I'm unsure if this was intended or merely a mistake. This gives the impression that her head takes on a weird bulgy shape at the top as the line connected on the left with the mane should appear to run under the mane, but doesn't. I recommend that lowering her hairline just a little bit to even it out will fix this problem. Other than that everything else looks well done, especially the sweater how the lines are crimped at places giving the impression of an actual sweater. Her eyes and the reflections on them are excellent, making them bigger than normal to help convey the cuteness in the picture. I enjoy how the tail comes out of the sweater and you can see the sweater coming up to adjust for the tail, I feel that most artists would have missed that or simply put her entire tail instead. The selection of colors are good, very Pinkie Pie like. The shading color is good, but appears rough on her unlike a smooth gradient. The positioning of the shading is well done, I can see that there is a light source shining from above. It appears like there are multiple light sources? Some places are shaded where others probably shouldn't be, so it makes it a little more difficult to tell exactly where the light is coming from. The shade that is cast onto the ground by Pinkie is nice as well, not the typical circle shading you might see if other pictures. Thus it can seen that time and effort was put into properly shading her. Understanding that Pinkie is the main focus of this picture is one of the reasons why I see there is no background other than a gradient. Purely the artist's choice here, but a simple background with her maybe on her bed or next to some laundry would help strengthen the appeal to viewers by providing something interesting to look at that doesn't draw attention away from Pinkie. The idea of Pinkie being put into adorable clothing is nothing new to the fandom, but this oversized sweater of hers is something fairly uncommon from what I've seen. Or maybe I haven't seen that much at all, who knows. As for impact, you hit a home run there. If the point of this picture was to make people go "d'awwwwww" then I'm fairly certain you did a fantastic job at that. Making a cute pony such as Pinkie Pie even cuter with this adorable sweater will probably melt a lot of people's hearts. It certainly did for me. Job well done, and I hope my critique was fair and constructive for you.
