I love Derpy and she will always be remembered by us Bronies and Pegasisters, even though she will be removed from Season 3 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Loved her voice and her personality...I don't know why they are removing Derpy...just because she is offensive to disabled people...I do not think so. Derpy represents her character for comical reasons (for the fans like us) and not to offend anyone.
Now to this deviation...
First impressions: I laughed because what Derpy does is quite silly and funny. I also like how the sound integrates with this animation. I can watch it forever. For you being an ameteur for animations, this one is very good. It looks eye-pleasing to watch like a 'finished product'...and that's a good thing.
I can't find any drawbacks in this deviation, but there are improvements here...
I would be much happier if I see spilled laundry detergent on the floor to give it more of an overall effect and to better represent Derpy...doing silly things. I would really to see Derpy's 'Derped' eyes through the reflection of the washing machine glass door. This would be amazing if you improve these two points.
Overall, I really like this animation. For its simplicity, it is funny and eye-pleasingly comfortable to view.
I would like this to be my screensaver and for Bronies and Pegsisters, because it would be an AWESOME screensaver.
Vision:I'm not you so I'm not sure that what you were trying to get across is what you got across but if you were trying to get across Derpy sitting next to a washing machine watching the clothes spin as bubbles start to overflow from it then I'd say you pretty much hit the nail on the head. 5/5
Originality:Well I'm not sure if this exact idea has been thought of before or not but from my perspective at least this is totally new and original. I can safely say I had not seen Derpy watching a washing machine overflow with bubbles until this day. 5/5
Technique:This is the only real thing I have a very very small gripe about, it's executed superbly but something seems a bit off. I'm only an amateur animator mind you and for the life of me I couldn't create something this spectacular so forgive me for not being able to tell you exactly what I think is wrong with your technique in professional terms. Derpy's eye seems to be a bit under worked and not properly blended with her face, the lines used to draw Derpy seem a touch too thick and when Derpy's ear twitches it seems rather jagged and rough maybe make her ear movement take three or four frames instead of just two or three next time you endeavor to do something like this again. Everything else is fine though, some things even great! The perspective is accurate, the spinning clothes are smooth and the background/objects are expertly placed and drawn almost without flaw. 4/5
Impact:I've never understood this about the deviantart critique system, impact is subjective and varies from person to person. With all other ratings, vision, originality and technique the critique is focused on the artists work in comparison to other artists works, and said critique can be relatively objective by basing your comparison on that instead of having to base it on your own personal opinion. So forgive me for raking your whole piece of work down a few stars for saying this but, it really didn't leave THAT much of an impact on me. This critique I'm in the middle of writing is leaving a bigger impact on me than your piece of work did. Granted I don't think it was your intent to leave an impact on the people who came across your animation. Correct me if I'm wrong but my guess is you just had a cute silly fun idea and wanted to make it into a video just for fun. Again it was a funny idea, but it just didn't leave that much of an impact on me and again I don't think it was supposed to. 2/5
I hope this was thorough enough, and I wish you the best of luck in whatever you choose to pursue in life!
